Buzzworthy travel destinations for National Honey Month
The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa in Downtown Denver has introduced a number of innovative offerings that incorporate the honey from its own bee colonies. Taking the sustainability of rooftop hives to a whole new level, the hotel’s “Bee Royalty Initiative” includes a variety of ways to enjoy the honey. The Rooftop Honey Saison beer, a summer creation with partner Wynkoop Brewing Company, will be on tap until the end of the month. Guests can also sip on the honey-infused bourbon in the house cocktail, Honey Brut or enjoy the hotel’s signature afternoon tea service. Head to the spa to indulge in the Queen Bee Body Scrub treatment or shop the signature spa products in the boutique. The Bee Royalty products available for purchase include a honey lip balm, honey lavender soap as well as jars of pure, organic honey with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Denver Beekeeper Association.

Amongst the resort’s array of original treatments is the new Hill Country Honey Bee Massage and Body Treatment. This blissful, organic massage and body treatment combines the healing properties of honey with ginger and rosemary, to nourish, moisturized and exfoliate the skin. The treatment incorporates a soothing bee-propolis compress, followed by a myofacial massage using warm organic honey and ginger massage oil. The treatment is topped off with a nourishing facial mask of royal jelly, bee-propolis, jojoba and avocado oils. A portion of the proceeds from this treatment will be donated to the Texas Beekeepers Association.
